1. Who we are
Beirut Politics is an independent digital media platform based in Beirut, Lebanon. Questions or data requests may be sent to info@beirut-politics.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account information, including email, username, name, date of birth, biography, profile image, nationality flags and optional social links.
- Content you submit, including articles, news posts, forum contributions, private messages and moderation reports.
- Newsletter subscriptions, sponsorship requests, correction requests and other contact information you choose to provide.
- Technical and security information reasonably needed to operate the service, prevent abuse and investigate failures.
- Aggregate first-party audience statistics: the page path, selected language, date and a broad acquisition category such as direct, search, social or referral. These records do not contain an IP address, account identifier or cross-site advertising identifier.
3. How we use information
- Provide accounts, publishing, forums, messaging, notifications and other requested features.
- Verify email addresses, approve staff roles, moderate content and protect the site.
- Respond to commercial, editorial, privacy and correction requests.
- Send the newsletter when you subscribe and maintain evidence of consent.
- Improve reliability, understand errors and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
4. Service providers and third parties
We use service providers for hosting, database storage and authentication, including Supabase for account authentication. Our programs and social content may link to or load YouTube, Instagram and other third-party services. Video and reel embeds are designed to load after you choose to play them where practical. Those services apply their own privacy terms.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not currently use behavioral advertising trackers on this website.
- We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect users, the newsroom or the public.
5. Cookies, local storage and audience measurement
The site uses browser storage and similar necessary technologies to keep you signed in, remember language and theme preferences and protect account sessions. It also uses a cookie-free, first-party page counter to understand aggregate readership. The counter respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track, does not build visitor profiles and does not send audience data to an advertising network.
6. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet editorial and legal responsibilities, resolve disputes and prevent abuse. Aggregate audience records are retained for up to 13 months. Account and inquiry records may be deleted or anonymized when no longer needed. No online system is perfectly secure, but access to administrative functions is restricted and sensitive actions are logged.
7. Your choices and requests
- Update profile information and account preferences through your dashboard.
- Unsubscribe from newsletters using the available link or contact us.
- Request access, correction or deletion of personal information, subject to legitimate editorial, security and legal retention needs.
- Ask questions or object to a use of your information by emailing info@beirut-politics.com.
8. Age, international use and changes
The site is not directed to children under 16. Information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. We will update the date above when this policy changes materially and may provide additional notice when appropriate.
This page is published as a clear operational reference and should be reviewed periodically by Lebanese counsel as services, advertising and compliance requirements evolve.
